雅思口語：用上這些諺語，你的口語會更地道！

大家都知道在中文中有許多諺語，同樣，在英文當(dāng)中，也有非常多的諺語，使用好了諺語，不但能讓考官眼前一亮，提高你的，也能夠使你的英文表達(dá)更地道。

1.THE LION’S SHARE

Meaning：“The lion’s share” of something is the biggest part or portion.

字面意思是獅子的那一份兒，引申為最大最多的那一份兒，最大的份額。

2.HOLD YOUR HORSES!

Meaning：This idiomatic expression means “Wait a minute! Don’t be in such a hurry.”

等我一會兒，別著急。

3.WEASEL OUT OF SOMETHING

Meaning：Weasels have a reputation for being sneaky. If a person “weasels out of” some responsibility, it means they abandon their responsibility or commitment in a way that is sneaky or cowardly.

形容一個(gè)人會推諉、退出(做某事)，逃避(責(zé)任)。

4.THE CAT’S MEOW

Meaning：If you think something is “the cat’s meow,” it means you think it is excellent, wonderful, really great.

形容一個(gè)人或者一件事情很棒、很杰出。

5.PIG-HEADED

Meaning：Describing someone as “pig-headed” means that person is stupid and stubborn (close-minded and inflexible).

就是形容一個(gè)人很蠢，很頑固。

6.THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

Meaning：“The elephant in the room” is an idiom for a problem or controversial issue that is too big to ignore, but that everyone tries to avoid talking about because it is embarrassing or will cause conflict.

用來形容一個(gè)明明存在的問題，卻被人刻意的回避及無視的情形。它的字面意思描述了，一個(gè)龐大的大象在狹小的房間里面，是非常明顯的事實(shí)，因此，它也暗含了這個(gè)問題應(yīng)該被拿來出來公開討論的意思。

7.ONE-TRICK PONY

Meaning：A pony is a small horse, which is often used for shows, competitions, and exhibitions. People teach ponies “tricks” to perform at the shows. If a pony only knows one trick, then it doesn’t have a great variety of abilities. So describing someone as a “one-trick pony” means the person has only one ability or good quality that he/she is known for, and doesn’t have any other abilities.

只會一招的小馬，就是形容一個(gè)人只有一個(gè)能力或者一個(gè)好的品質(zhì)被大家知道，其實(shí)也沒別的真沒事，用中文的成語解釋就是“黔驢技窮”。

8.THAT REALLY GETS MY GOAT.

Meaning：If something “gets your goat,” it means it annoys you.
