獨(dú)家：教師談2016年SAT數(shù)學(xué)考試改革篇（一）

SAT多年來(lái)在考試內(nèi)容固化的批評(píng)之下，外加ACT的分庭抗?fàn)�，高高在上的SAT終于要在2016年走下神壇，回歸人間(美利堅(jiān))，數(shù)學(xué)部分也不例外地走向?qū)嵱眠~了一大步。

首先，是題量和時(shí)間。題目總數(shù)只增加了3題，但額外多出了10分鐘。這意味考生每題擁有更多的思考和計(jì)算時(shí)間，從原先平均每題的77秒增加到了 84秒。不錯(cuò)的消息!

此外，這58題中有20題不能使用計(jì)算機(jī)，只有25分鐘的答題時(shí)間。每題75秒。這似乎對(duì)于頭腦靈活的中國(guó)學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)不會(huì)成為什么負(fù)擔(dān)。

但是，請(qǐng)嘗試在75秒內(nèi)完成下題：

Aresearcher places two colonies of bacteria into two petri dishes that each havearea 10 square centimeters. 你在時(shí)間內(nèi)完成了嗎?這道題目本身是一道典型結(jié)合實(shí)際的圖表題。學(xué)生完全可能在今后的課堂中遇到這樣的案例分析。CollegeBoard無(wú)疑將會(huì)加大該題型在數(shù)學(xué)考試中的比重。

A)在時(shí)間t = 0時(shí)，2個(gè)培養(yǎng)皿都100%被細(xì)菌覆蓋。

毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)這題的答案是B。如果看中文解題，除了文字有些繞，相信大多數(shù)的同學(xué)都不會(huì)被題目的本身所難道。但是在全英語(yǔ)的條件下做題，那又是另一個(gè)故事了。我們只有75秒。

我們?cè)賮?lái)看一道官方樣題：

Aninternational bank issues its Traveler credit cards worldwide. When a customermakes a purchase using a Traveler card in a currency different from thecustomer’s home currency, the bank converts the purchase price at the dailyforeign exchange rate and then charges a 4% fee on the converted cost.

Saralives in the United States, but is on vacation in India. She used her Travelercard for a purchase that cost 602 rupees (Indian currency). The bank posted acharge of $9.88 to her account that included the 4% fee.

PART 1

Whatforeign exchange rate, in Indian rupees per one U.S. dollar, did the bank usefor Sara’s charge? Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

PART 2

Abank in India sells a prepaid credit card worth 7,500 rupees. Sara can buy theprepaid card using dollars at the daily exchange rate with no fee, but she willlose any money let unspent on the prepaid card. What is the least number of the7,500 rupees on the prepaid card Sara must spend for the prepaid card to becheaper than charging all her purchases on the Traveler card? Round your answerto the nearest whole number of rup fees.

W(我)Q(去)!這就是傳說(shuō)中的WordQuestions(文字題)。而且這不是我們常見(jiàn)的選擇題(可以用代入法高效解題)，而是需要考生計(jì)算出答案后，手動(dòng)填入答題紙。到這里相信大家應(yīng)該明白。

總之，對(duì)于美國(guó)學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)，新增不用計(jì)算器解2次方程等或許會(huì)是一個(gè)問(wèn)題-我們無(wú)需對(duì)題目的難度過(guò)于擔(dān)心;而對(duì)于中國(guó)學(xué)生而言，能否在時(shí)間內(nèi)有效地理解我們不太接觸的圖表和大量文字抑或成為取得高分的一大障礙。
