閱讀關于新物種引入所帶來的負面影響：破壞生態(tài)平衡，破壞當地資源，破壞當地經濟

1. imported species may do harm to local ecosystem

聽力分別反駁三個觀點，對得很工整：

1．農作物引入是一個好事情（imported species doesn’t always do harm to local ecosystem，以agriculture 為例）

2．對于資源的破壞要取決于各地的情況，一種叫Cane toad 的動物（reading 中的例子）引入以后幫助了Florida 消除害蟲（imported species doesn’t always destroy the useful aspects of local species, it depends on local circumstance.以Florida 引進的toad 為例。）

3．對于經濟的破壞也要看不同經濟，一種叫mes-的植物（也是 reading 中的例子），成為了人們喂養(yǎng)牲畜的飼料和生火的燃料（imported species adds the local economic burden, it depends on local circumstance. 以Mesquite imported into Africa 為例， food and firewood.）

閱讀是說有個作家xx 說中國人在between 1421 年and 1423 年去過America。

第一段大概是說Bimix 上面有markings, 是Chinese弄的。

第二段大概是說在coast land 還是哪里發(fā)現了石頭的 anchors，說是中國人在哪里弄的。

第三段是說在某個島上面有個stone tower，有點像lighthouse，說是中國人搞的，然后Chinese sailor could raise and xx platform for repair damaged boats.

聽力講座：教授說懷疑中國人沒到過America，no evidence to show Chinese came to America 在1421-1423 年

第一說那些 marking 是natural formation，不是人為的 marking，只是像人為的。說geologist 看的話一眼就可以看出是天然行程的。

第二說那些anchor 也不一定是中國人，因為在那個時候，anchor 已經用了好久在航海了，不只一個國家用錨.

第三是說那個島上的tower 不是中式建筑，看起來是England 建筑，說那個島原來是一個England 的owner 的，這個lighthouse 更像是England 建筑。

Easter island 的居民是從南美過去的。三個理由：

1. 南美居民當年完全可以乘坐raft，借助風力和技巧到達該島。

閱讀材料就是在Ghost Ranch 發(fā)現了一群恐龍化石，（the explanation of the death of a herd of dinosaurs found in Mexico.）同一時間死的。然后給出了三個可能的原因：

1. 掉進泥沼出不來死的（they may be stuck in the mud and can't escape）

2. 是毒死的，水塘有毒（they may have been poisoned to death since there are poisonous chemicals found in their body.）

3. 是被洪水淹死的。（sudden flood. because the skeleton of the dinosaurs remain complete.）

聽力教授就對三個論點分別質疑并給出證據。

1. if they are stuck in the mud, they...(forgotten)...

2, the remains of the fish is found. so the water won't be poisonous.

3, the pose of their death body indicates that the death may have happened before the flood.

閱讀材料講反對national park 將要收門票。理由有三點：

1）這是國家公園，國家對市民的稅中包含了對公園的維護等費用，所以不應額外收費，而且國家公園就是應該讓大家免費參觀。

2）收費會減少大家去公園的興趣，去公園的人數將會減少。

3）會使公園的工作人員多參與有關門票銷售，或者是處理廢票等的工作，而會分散對別的工作的重視，如保障游人安全，保護公園環(huán)境等，閱讀材料認為這些才是真正需要工作人員重視的。

聽力材料中，教授不同意閱讀材料的觀點。教授認為收費是合理的。理由也有三條，對比閱讀材料。

1）教授認為收費會對人們更加公平，體現在，有的人每年最多來一次公園，卻要交納稅費，雖然每人都可以去公園，但并不是每人都會去。所以收費門票可以保證公平。

2）收費可以更加吸引游人參觀。在游人們的心目中，門票高的公園比門票低得公園更值得去看。

3）可以讓公園的工作人員接觸到更多的人們，了解他們的需要和對公園發(fā)展的意見等等…

Reading：在北美一個叫M 的地方發(fā)現一個洞穴，里面挖掘出的東西證明已有20000 年歷史，但很多學者對此表示懷疑。

理由1：對碳同位素測定出的時間有疑義，測定用的煤可能是從別處運過來的。

理由2：20000 年前是冰河期，當時有一座冰川離M 只有80miles，但洞中挖掘出的動植物和手工制品需要在溫暖條件下存在。

理由3：人和動物的活動可能會破壞洞穴，使原本埋在下層的東西翻到上層，讓人誤解年代較古老的東西是位于上層的。

Speaking：支持洞穴中的證據

理由1：（這段沒聽清）似乎是說，如果煤是從別處運過來的，會有sign of erosion，還有ground water 云云。

理由2：20000 年前確實是冰河期，但冰川是在高海拔形成的，海拔越低，溫度越高。在M 的洞穴處是可能有溫暖氣候的。

理由3：人和動物的活動只能破壞洞穴的上層土壤，洞穴里的東西都是從深的地方挖出來的。

1. 綜合作文：背景是一些高中要求學生們每周做兩個小時的志愿者。1 Paragraph 里面說，這樣是沒有用的，因為：1 學生們可以取巧，在自己的家長或者祖父母那里干活然后作為匯報，只有自己匯報沒有其他東西來證明；2 會讓學生們以后遠離志愿者，因為現在是學校要求，他們?yōu)榱双@得回報采取這么做，這讓他們覺得做志愿者本身也是意見要有回報，要被要求才能夠去做的事情，所以以后就不會喜歡真正無償的志愿者了；3 學校的要求是破壞學生的權利(violate students’right)，學校沒有權利強迫學生們去這樣做，非法。

Lecture 說，paragraph 里面說的是沒有道理的，因為：1 學生自己的工作匯報只是檢驗工作的一部分，我們和學生工作的地方的人聯系，專業(yè)的機構(authority)還有官方的文件記載(official document of the city )來保證；2 學生們喜歡作者愿者，比如那些在醫(yī)院和幫助過小孩子們的學生覺得他們的經歷很好(powerful experience)，并激發(fā)他們繼續(xù)做下去(motivate)；3學校的要求不是破壞學生權利，如果高中能夠要求學生來上數學課，那志愿者作為一門課程為什么就不能夠實行呢，學生們在學校上課就要完成學校要求的課程。

Permanent human presence 現在VENUS 上：氣壓，水和氧氣，光線(注意問題是professor 的proposal 如何solve challenge presented in the reading. 不是contradict。比如professor 承認閱讀中的內容，但是認為有解決方案)

第一點：閱讀中認為Venus 基本上不可能Permanent human presence，寫作則認為可能，first:閱讀中認為the atmospheric pressure on the Venus' surface is higher than the Earth's。任何spacecraft 著陸后一小時都會crush。寫作中認為即使表面的大氣壓力很大，但是50km above surface 是和地球一樣的，可以建立floating station 和balloon 一樣。

第二點：閱讀中認為沒有足夠的水和氧氣來供人類生存，寫作中認為水和氧可以通過化學物質生成,chemical process，而且Venus 上面有原材料,這樣就不需要從地球import 水和氧氣。

第三點：閱讀中認為云太厚了，寫作說可以用solar cell, 因為云層上面有sunlight and 而且云層也會reflect sunlight below。這樣會有more than enough electricity.

Reading:

為了 slow down the global warming 的速度, iron fertilization 是個辦法, 但是有很多問題.

1 只能吸收很少的carbon dioxide

2 產生永久的影響，可能有毒

3 破壞ecological balance of ocean

Lecture 反對：

一、實驗還是有用的，沒有效是因為實驗時間太短了，iron fertilization 在第一個月吸收二氧化碳的能力確實不行，但是到了第二個月第三個月就increase 了。

二、對于部分有毒的區(qū)域可以停止施肥，會逐漸decline,

三、雖然不知是否會造成永久性傷害，但是還是worth to take the risk,畢竟地球到了生死存亡的關頭。
